Being active with Brentwood & Chelmsford Green Party

As a member of the Green Party and of Brentwood and Chelmsford Greens, you can be as active as you like:

  • from armchair and online support on our website, Twitter and Facebook
  • to voting Green in local and general elections
  • volunteering to stand as a candidate yourself for election to your local council or for Westminster
  • joining us at our regular local party meetings and social events
  • or volunteering in numerous other capacities to help B&CGP

If you’re not already a member then do consider joining the Green Party today. You will also automatically become a member of Brentwood and Chelmsford Green Party if you live in the local area.

Even if you don’t want to make the commitment of joining us as a member, we always welcome supporters and volunteers to get involved, come along to our bi-monthly meetings and Green Drinks social events, and help with our campaigning and local activities. We are all volunteers at B&CGP – and we’re always keen to welcome more!

Why volunteer with your local Greens?

Volunteers can help massively with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with a B&CGP campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns? Would you like to volunteer to stand for election to your local council?

Do you have fundraising experience, or graphic design, media, research and administrative skills – and could volunteer for a role on our committee, or to help out generally with B&CGP activities?  Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you!

Join us at our regular meetings

Brentwood & Chelmsford Green Party organises regular meetings for local members and Green Party supporters, taking place at various venues across our area.

We hold hybrid meetings where possible, to allow those not able to attend the venue in person to join us via Zoom if they prefer. Everyone on our email list is sent the link in advance, along with the agenda, and details of any special items of interest.

You can join our mailing list using the form at the foot of this page, to make sure you don’t miss anything that’s going on!

We also try and hold regular, ideally bi-monthly, Green Drinks and similar social gatherings at various locations throughout the year – tending to alternate between pubs and other venues in Brentwood, Ingatestone, and Chelmsford.

For more information on local Green Party meetings, or if you’d like to come along and join us but aren’t sure what to do, please email us on contact@chelmsford.greenparty.org.uk, or telephone 07785 527106 (Julian) or 07889 232042 (Paul).
